My very own Appam recipe

Ingredients for 2 servings

Appam patra

Samolina – 200gm

Curd – 3 tablespoon

Onion – 2(medium size)

Ginger – 1 inch

Tomato -1 medium

Chilli – as per ur taste

Coriander – hand full

Salt to taste

Baking soda – a ponch

Few drops of lemon

Ingredients for tadka

Mustard seed – one teaspoon

Mustard oil – 2 teaspoon

Curry leaves – 10 to 15

Chop onion, ginger, tomato, chilli, coriander. Mix all together and let it rest for 10 minutes.

Put appam patra on gas stove and on the flame to low. Sprinkle some oil or ghee and fill the patra cavity with the help of spoon and cover the patra with lid. Cook for 6 min and cook from other side for 2 min.

After cooking sprinkle tadka over appam and serve with green chutny or tomato sauce.

Breakfast at my House

During the week we’re often walking out the door with a coffee in one hand and slice of toast in the other, but on weekends breakfast is never rushed. It’s a late affair, sometimes spilling over to lunch, with lots of reading and chatter in between courses of fruits, poached eggs, honey and toast. One of our favorite things we like to serve when friends are visiting are buckwheat blueberry pancakes.
